POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Health Services (VP) will oversee all health services operations to ensure outstanding delivery of care and services to residents in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The VP assists the Chief Executive Officer in executing the health services initiatives outlined in the strategic plan according to the organization’s mission and purpose.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President of Health Services position is responsible for oversight of all care areas to include: health care (long-term and skilled nursing), catered (assisted) living, Vista (memory care) and the Resident/Employee clinic. In addition, the VP will manage the following contracted services; rehabilitation services, pharmacy services and provider contracts for the medical director and other health care professionals. Care area leaders reporting directly to the VP will be the Administrator of Health Care and the Administrator of Assisted Living. The VP will report to the President/CEO and work collaboratively with other members of the executive and senior leadership teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Collaboration/Teamwork – Demonstrated record of high accomplishment in both leadership and participating in teams to execute on shared goals.

· Communication - Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) that demonstrates the ability to share information at various levels of the organization. Constituencies that will receive health services communication include the WCBR Board of Trustees, residents, management and associates, and select others.

· Leadership - Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing individuals and teams, with a vision for continuous quality and process improvement. Able to motivate teams to perform at higher levels.

COMPENSATION

Requirements
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, currently licensed as an RN in the state of Virginia and currently licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA).
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing Administration, Business Administration or other related field.
Experience
Required: 5 years of senior management experience in long term care.
Required: demonstrated strong track record of building and leading engaged, high-performing teams.
Preferred: experience in planning, design and operations of person-centered healthcare.
Preferred: experience in strategic planning and new business development.
Preferred: experience with innovation, technology and overcoming workforce challenges.
Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in home care, palliative care and hospice.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, guidance and support to clinical/care areas of the organization and ensures departmental goals are successfully achieved.
Strengthen care area leadership and operational structure to create a culture focused on teamwork, quality and service.
Collaborate with the executive leadership team in annual, long range and strategic planning, with focus on continuous improvement in the care areas.
Provide direction and motivation to health services leaders to meet/exceed quality, occupancy, staffing and budget goals.
Create implementation plans and execute on new health services programs (e.g. patient centered care, electronic medical record).
Build, train, support, evaluate and retain an exceptional team of health care leaders.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulations governing the operation of licensed care settings.
