Located on a beautiful 42-acre campus in Portola Valley, CA, this CARF accredited 328-person life plan community enjoys a stellar reputation as a leader in the industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary, entrepreneurial, performance-driven leader to join an organization that is highly committed to their mission of service in providing homes and services for healthy aging. The ideal candidate will be a visionary, engaging leader who in partnership with others, will continue to develop and drive the strategic vision of the organization and community.

Job Summary
The Executive Director will be an entrepreneurial, adaptive and collaborative leader who will represent the organization both internally and externally. They will be a strong advocate for residents and ensure quality operations, strong financial performance, and excellent resident satisfaction.


Bachelor’s degree in health or business administration, Master’s preferred.
5+ years leadership experience in a CCRC facility.
Significant, proven experience as an Executive Director in a CCRC setting.
Understands and embraces the mission of The Sequoias Portola Valley.
California Nursing Home and RCFE Administrator’s license preferred.
Strong strategic and financial skills that demonstrate excellent leadership, financial management, team development, strategic planning and operating acumen.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to forge connections with and garner the support of community, staff, the Resident Board and Sequoia Living management with the highest levels of transparency and integrity.
Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions, and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
Strong hospitality, customer service and interpersonal skills; with the ability to provide appropriate leadership and oversight to the campus. Relates well in a team atmosphere with campus staff and corporate leadership.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.

Salary commensurate with experience.
