Children’s Specialized Hospital is one of the largest pediatric rehabilitation hospitals in the country, the pre-eminent provider of specialized healthcare services for infants, children and young adults, and a leading provider of inpatient and outpatient care for children from birth to 21 years of age facing special health challenges.

As a key member of our leadership team, and reporting directly to the VP Patient Care Services and CNO, you will oversee and ensure our Long Term Care Units are in accord with federal and state regulations, as well as established policies. Successful candidate will develop strategic plans, oversee all operations and programs, as well as recommend and lead changes to improve operational function of the long term care units. In addition, you will create functional strategies and specific objectives for the alignment of the long term care program within the hospital strategic and operating plans

Responsibilities include:
• Collaborating with relevant CSH leaders and staff to assure that all aspects of the long term care program are planned, implemented and evaluated to maximize quality of care and service
• Provides effective oversight of all survey processes within the long term care setting, ensuring a state of continual readiness for survey
• Ensuring resident and family rights are integrated with all aspects of care
• Ensuring development and implementation of all long term care policies and procedures
• Ensuring CSH complies with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, as well as any appropriate accreditation standards
• Facilitating employee engagement within the units and across the hospital
• Developing and managing relevant operating and capital budgets
• Overseeing and ensuring effective implementation of relevant contractual agreements
• Collaborating with other CSH leaders to ensure a safe, clean, attractive and home like environment for residents, families, staff and visitors
• Ensuring effective oversight of the quality assurance and performance improvement program for long term care
• Ensuring effective oversight of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all technical, clinical and biomedical equipment within long term care

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in healthcare administration or a health related field, current New Jersey Nursing Home Administrator’s License, and at least 5 years of progressively responsible administrative level experience in a hospital or long term care setting. AHA BLS Provider Certification, along with the ability to interpret hospital policy and maintain cooperative relationships with other departments and external contacts will be expected. Superior leadership, motivational, oral/written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Clinical background in nursing or rehabilitation preferred.
